Software Development & Outsourcing

Software Development & Outsourcing

End-to-end project development, from business analysis through to handover and warranty — with the same team that built and runs our own platforms.

Most software projects fail before the first line of code

Not because the programming is wrong, but because nobody understood the problem properly. The client describes what they think the problem is. The supplier writes down exactly what they were told, then builds exactly what they wrote down. Six months later the software matches the specification and nobody uses it, because the specification described the wrong job.

Three things that make us different

The TEQTO team discussing work at a project screen

We build our own products

ControlMES, Vigo, Vigo Exam and our RFID solution were all built by this same team and are all in live operation. We know what it feels like to fix a bug at midnight because a factory is standing still, and we know the cost of a design decision made badly two years ago.

A business analysis session with a client

We start from the business, not the technology

Before discussing languages or architecture, we go and learn how the work actually happens, who does what, and whose hands the data passes through. Most of the time a project saves is saved in this phase.

We can do the hardware too

When software has to talk to machines, measuring instruments or sensors, we design and build the boards and wiring ourselves rather than subcontracting. This is where many projects stall, waiting on a third supplier.

Where we specialise

  • Manufacturing and industrial software — production, warehouse, quality, maintenance
  • Equipment and machine integration — PLCs, measuring devices, RFID, machine control systems
  • Business management systems — many users, complex permissions, large data volumes
  • Education platforms — online learning, online testing, learner management

How we work

1 · Understand the problem

Meet in person, watch the work running, read the existing data and forms. The output is a description of the problem both sides agree on.

2 · Specify and fix the scope

Write down plainly what will and will not be built, with a time and cost estimate. Scope is agreed in writing before work starts.

3 · Design the interface before coding

The client reviews and approves every screen. Changing something here is far cheaper than changing it once the code exists.

4 · Develop in increments

We hand over working pieces early so the client can try them, instead of waiting until the end to see the product.

5 · Acceptance and handover

Testing against the agreed specification, with documentation and user training.

6 · Warranty and beyond

Fixing defects through the warranty period, and continuing support if the client wants to develop further.

Project teams

Teams assembled to fit

Each project gets a team assembled around it, covering business analysis, interface design, backend, frontend, mobile, device integration, DevOps and testing.

On technology

We do not lock ourselves into one stack. Each project gets the platform that fits the problem, the client's existing systems and long-term maintainability — rather than bending the problem to fit a familiar tool.

Have a project in mind?

Send us the scope you have in mind and we will come back with an approach and an estimate. If the problem is still unclear, we survey first and quote after.
